Our Story
ONGIA is a non-profit organization that was established in 2001 with the goal of addressing the street gang phenomenon across Canada. The organization is made up of professionals from various disciplines within the criminal justice community. ONGIA's mission is to provide education, training, and awareness on gang-related issues, including human trafficking. Through partnerships with the community, ONGIA aims to combat gang activity in neighbourhoods and schools. If you have any questions or concerns about gangs in your community or school, ONGIA is available to provide assistance and support.

ONGIA fosters a culture of community engagement among its members, encouraging active networking to enhance awareness and understanding of gang prevention, education, and suppression efforts. Committed to educating a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including youth, parents, school officials, social workers, and the community at large, ONGIA tirelessly dedicates volunteer hours to deliver and maintain comprehensive training on gang-related issues.
Membership in ONGIA is open to sworn members of law enforcement agencies, encompassing police officers, probation officers, corrections officers, immigration officers, and customs officers. As an integral part of the broader law enforcement network in North America, ONGIA acknowledges and expresses gratitude to organizations such as the East Coast Gang Investigators Association, MAGLOCLEN, and the National Alliance of Gang Investigators Associations (NAGIA) for their unwavering support and leadership.

The Organization for National Gang Information & Awareness (ONGIA) is committed to combating the threat of gun and gang violence within our communities. Our mission is to significantly reduce and prevent these dangers through targeted training programs and awareness campaigns.
We focus on providing comprehensive education and training to law enforcement professionals, educators, and the public, covering topics such as gang activities, membership, and their intersections with human trafficking, social media, and organized crime.
